You run a successful business. You need quality services you can rely on, including shipping.
We get it. That's why we're always trying to improve our system to make things better and more streamlined for you.
Our latest development
We've both improved and standardized the FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipping labels. Now, the labels will share the same new look and feel, with the barcodes matching in length, format and content. The new barcode will provide more precise information. Our handling system and sort technology will make better high-speed sort decisions and seamlessly direct your packages through our networks.
In addition, the change makes it easier to implement new and enhanced services down the road.
What does this change mean for you? You'll experience even better and more reliable service for your shipments.
What you may need to do
Your internal shipping system may need to be updated to coincide with the change. How will you know? It depends on how you answer the following questions:
- Do you scan the FedEx barcode as part of your business process?
- Do you manually sort your FedEx® shipments?
- Do you currently utilize a label for your FedEx shipments that's custom-designed for your specific shipping solution or processes?
If none of these situations apply to your system, the new labels should not affect you. You can go about business as usual.
If you answer "Yes" to any of the questions, go to fedex.com/barcodeupdates for next steps to an easy transition.
For EDI users
If you receive electronic data interchange (EDI) messages for your shipments' status, take note. The new barcode will affect messages provided in X12 214, flat-file and CSV format.
We'll help you through the transition. For EDI questions, contact the EDI team at 1.800.546.5222 (press 8) or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
